The band, made up of Catholics and Protestants was born in Derry in 1999 and has been honing its sound in pubs and concert venues on both sides of the Atlantic. Band members include: Declan MacLaughlin, vocals, Paddy Nash, rhythm guitar/vocals and Tomas Macseain, bass and Dougal McPartland, lead guitar vocals. The band’s name derives from the fact that vocals are sung in unison. The tunes are rock with a solid beat, sort of Saw Doctors channeled through Black 47. They have some great images in their lyrics. Big World scorns people who instead being free, seek bigger cages or longer chains. On Happy, the band tells us they want to be just that. A great debut album.
