ML 022 CD $16

Michael Londra is poised to become the latest tenor sensation, Michael’s vocal prowess is not burdened by the big symphony sound, but rather complemented by lush arrangements that feature individual instruments. His voice seduces you into the heart and meaning of the twelve songs on the album. Michael was lead vocalist in “Riverdance on Broadway” and uses musicians from that show, Ivan Goff and Robbie Harris in The Water is Wide opens the album and the first verse is sung acappella. We are won by his well modulated way with the lyrics and follow where he leads us. The same simplicity of style is used to give a fresh sound to Danny Boy and bring out the supernatural aspects of the song She Moved Through the Fair.

The album contains six tracks of original songs written by Michael and the album’s producer Stone Skinner, who is best known as the arranger for the Broadway smash “RENT.” The most impressive of these is Save Your Heart, a song which urges the listener to move on from a relationship that’s not working, because you “know you’ll love another day.” The other songs capture the seductive quality of Michael’s voice. A truly impressive debut album by a veteran of the Celtic music scene.
