This album, which pairsEamon Coyne on banjo and Kris Drever on guitar, is sure to put the fun back in traditional music. The sets of jigs, reels and barndances are given a bouncy, happy feel by the strong rhythmic quality of the playing. That the musicians are out to have fun is made abundantly clear by the song Cock-A Doodle, which is announced by a rooster's crow. The two instrumentalists brilliantly compliment one another and compel our attention to the complexity of the tunes. The foot taping Peninsula Set is particularly compelling. Kris performs two songs, The Viking Bride and Walking in the Dew, which are brilliantly sung. The closing number Honk Toot Sweet is a medley of two songs - one written by each player. A great CD!
