This is the debut album for Ashley Davis, both as a vocalist and composer, and she excels at both. Ashley was trained in sean nos singing at The World Music Center in Limerick by Michael O’Suilleabain. She was a featured vocalist with “Lord of the Dance.” On this album, she combines the traditional with the haunting style of new age to create a sound all her own. Ashley uses the personal to evoke the universal. On The Fields, a stormy night in Limerick, recalls all of the Celtic people who have moved through that area. Her awareness of the fragility of love is voiced in Just for A While, Dreaming of You and Only in My Mind. Instrumental support is provided by guitar, keyboards, violin, mandolin and percussion.
