The Irish Tenors
The Irish Tenors brought the big sound of a symphony orchestra to popular Irish music. The Irish Tenors’ CDs mix solos by each member with songs where the three performers blend their voices to create a heavenly sound. The original lineup, Anthony Kearns, John McDermott and Ronan Tynan, took America by storm and set fundraising records when they first appeared on PBS in 1998 in a special, The Irish Tenors. His mother’s terminal illness caused John McDermott to leave the group. He was replaced by Finbar Wright, who was first introduced to American audiences by Phil Coulter.
Ronan Tynan has now left the group to live in New York City and pursue a solo career. This allowed John McDermott to return so that the current lineup is as strong as ever. Each of the Irish Tenors, except Anthony Kearns, has solo albums, which can be found under their individual names.
