Solas
Solas is the most talented and exciting Irish traditional band in America. The current lineup of the band includes: leader and multi-instrumentalist Seamus Egan (flute, tenor banjo, mandolin, tin whistle, guitar), Winnie Horan (fiddle), Mick McCauley (accordion), Eamon McElholm (guitar, keyboards) and Deirdre Scanlon (lead vocals). Each of the members are virtuosos on their instruments and Seamus Egan, Winnie Horan and Mick McCauley have all recorded solo albums. Another mark of the strength of the band is that it’s ex members include Karan Casey and John Doyle. But it is not the solos, but their ensemble playing, that makes Solas a super band and America’s gift to world music.
