Shaun Davey
Shaun Davey is unique among our Irish music artist listings in that he is not so much a performer as a composer. He gained his great fame for a series of suites for the uilleann pipes. Liam O’Flynn, who was the piper with Planxty, played on all of these albums. The Deer’s Cry, sung by Rita Connelly on The Pilgrim, is a favorite at many Catholic retreats. She also has solo albums, which are produced by Shaun Davey. Recently Shaun has turned his hand to movie soundtracks and film scores; Davey produced the brilliant music for Waking Ned Devine.
