His genius is acknowledged by Christy Moore, specifically on the Live At The Point album. Fascinating interviews with Shane's parents, his long time partner, Victoria, and Shane himself should put to rest the popular image of Shane as an unthinking drunken lout. His sharp intelligence comes through. Additional insight comes from Pogues member, Phil Chevron. Highlights of the musical performances are: The Pogues collaboration with The Dubliners on the Irish Rover as Shane and Ronnie Drew share the lead vocals as do Kirsty McColl and Shane on Fairytale of New York. He was the composer of almost all the Pogues original songs including, Boys from the County Hell, Streams of Whiskey, If I Should Fall From Grace with God, Fairytale of New York, Summer in Siam, Lullaby of London and A Pair of Brown Eyes.
